In 1986, Sunway city was an 800 acre of tin-timing wasted land in Selangor until Tan Sri Jeffrey Cheah has took control of Sunway group and turn it into a city. This Sunway City has been growing over the years and turned out to be a very successful with all the amenities around they have college, a water theme park, mall, resort hotel, hospital and also bus rapid transit system. As you can see today Sunway City now is home to 100 thousand over of residents and students.
As you can see that now Sunway Iskandar Sdn Bhd, it is an indirect subsidiary of Sunway Bhd. Sunway Iskandar wishes to create another Sunway City success in a new township with 1,800 acres of land in Iskandar Puteri and it will be the largest Sunway Iskandaria Integrated City.
Sunway Iskandar has targeted to have 140,000 to live in this new development said by chief executive officer Gerard Soosay. Furthermore, he said that this is not a plot developer it is a township development as Sunway has sizable advantages compare to others competitors.
Gerard told The Edge Financial Daily in Johor recently that, “ if you have a township, this is where you have the advantage of bringing in others product that suits the market needed”
First above all to step in a township development, it is important for you to build a full amenities. “Management had unanimously agreed that education must be the most important tool in building a township” said by Gerard
In 2018, Sunway International School has targeted to increase their number of enrolling student intake to 350 students from the current number of the student currently attending the school is around 270 student.
Another key to bringing up is that bringing the industrial element to Iskandar Puteri, Sunways group is aware that they cannot do it alone “ We need the federal and state government help to bring industries into Iskandar Puteri” said by Gerard.
He added Johor government has been giving hand to attract more business and people to Iskandar Malaysia “ This is to make Johor a thriving place that everyone wants to live in”
It was reported that, after Sunway Iskandar launches their first phase of Citrine Lakehomes, they received an overwhelming response from homebuyers and the numbers of units have been sold out is around 360 unit of Citrine Lakehomes.
This company achieve their goals by going back to the basic marketing strategy and that is the four Ps ( price, product, promotion and place)
This Sunway Iskandar has their own master plan that consists of six precincts and that is The Lakeview, The Parkview, The Riverside, The Marketplace, The Capital and The Seafront. The next area that Sunway Iskandar id going to focus is The Marketplace precinct, where they will develop a new concept mall called The Big Box Village with the size of 500,000 sq ft of gross floor area and 32-acre of adventure- bases extreme park and hotel. This XPARK will feature activities for both adults and children with so many activities. As for the hotel, it is scheduled to start to construct in the first quarter of 2018.
“Next year, we have called it as “welcoming the community”. We have just started handing over Citrine Residences and the office and so, we are in the process of welcoming our community” said by Gerard.
Above all Sunway Iskandar has a gross development of RM30 billion, they are going to ensure to keep the Sunway group busy for the next 20 to 30 years comes.
