FT Minister explain on the 43 plots of land that has been sold from DBKL

Cheras MP Tan Kok Wai claim that DBKL has sold 45 plot of primers lands far below the market without an open tender since Tengku Adnan became the Government Territories (FT) Minister in May 2013. The DAP lawmakers had claimed that it has been going on since 2013 until July 14, 2017.  

On December 14 in Petaling Jaya, FT Minister Datuk Seri Utama Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor has slammed MP Tan Kok Wai over his claims that DBKL had sold land without open tender, and in addition over reasonable lodging improvement matters in Kuala Lumpur.

FT Minister said that the actual number of land sold were 43 plots of land. There is 28 plot of land are for the construction of Federal Territory Affordable Housing (Rumawaip) while the rest of the plot is for the development of 1Malaysia Civil Servants Housing (PPA1M) and 1 Malaysia People’s Housing (PR1MA)

“ Areas sold for this development involve non-feasible hawker centre reserves, squatter settlement, public housing spaces, reserved open spaces and staff quarters,” he said in a statement.

He said the number of (Rumawaip) units developed over 50,000 units.

He added that the selling price of the homes was based on current prices with some prices at a discount through cross-subsidisation, where developers have to sell the units at price of RM42,000/ RM188,000 / RM198,000 and RM230,000

“This value is to bring benefits to buyers that can enjoy lower houses price compare to the real market,” he said

FT Minister said that Tan should appreciate the effort of the government trying to supply houses towards the urban poor people to own their houses.

Tengku Adnan additionally said if Tan is of the sentiment that the land deals were for personal gain or bribes, the MP should influence his assertions to clear with the goals that he can make legitimate move or  influences an answer to the Malaysian Anti-Corruption to commission in regard of abusing power
